How Our Blocked Contacts Feature Works

We created this feature to help you feel more secure and in control of who can see your profile on Twyned — especially when it comes to people you may already know.

Syncing Contacts

When you tap “Sync your contacts”, Twyned will scan your phone’s contact list to see if any of your matches (or potential matches) are already in your phone. If there’s a match, we’ll automatically hide your profile from them — and hide their profile from you too.

• We never message or notify your contacts.

• Your contact list is only used to cross-reference names and numbers to protect your privacy.

• You can stop syncing at any time in your settings.

Adding Contacts Manually

If you’d rather not sync your contact list, you can choose “Add manually” to input phone numbers of people you want to block. Once entered, those users won’t see your profile — even if they’re already using Twyned.

Who You’ve Blocked

In the “Blocked” tab, you’ll see a list of all users you’ve manually blocked. This helps you keep track of your privacy preferences and update them as needed.

Your privacy and safety matter to us. This process is entirely optional, but it's designed to make sure you never have to worry about running into someone you’d rather avoid.
